Jezabell's Second Life's™ Top People to Watch

Please pardon the interruption as I, Jezabell Barbosa, diverge away from regular dramarama “The Young and the Rezless” programming to bring to your attention a few people whom I think are Second Life’s™ Top People to Watch!

On occasion, this blog will actually contain interesting and useful information about designers, builders, scripters, entertainers, and the like. Of course, the blog shall remain crap filled with my illiterate school girl ramblings, but every now and then I have to pull on my panties, be a big girl, and share the spotlight with someone else.

So with all that said, may I introduce: Samsara Nishi of Sam’s Secret.




Samsara, Sam for short, is an up and coming new designer in SL. Owner and operator of Sam’s secret, Sam has three locations across the grid. You can come vist her at her shop on Lebettu Sam’s Golden Sequence Dress recently won her a top third finalist award, a 3,000L award, and a free shop for 6 months from the Fashion Designer Contest from Kayan’s Island & Resort, Bara sim. Sam style of clothing is simple, elegant, uncluttered and affordable! Let us hear what she has to say when I ask her five simple questions:

[7:08] Jezabell Barbosa: Do you think I am sexy?
[7:08] Jezabell Barbosa licks her lips and strikes a pose
[7:08] Samsara Nishi: lol! Sure I do!
[7:09] Samsara Nishi: sexy & chic !
[7:09] Jezabell Barbosa: I am sure glad you agree to my sexiness, cause um I am so F’ning Sexy!

[7:09] Jezabell Barbosa: Why Sam's secret? What is your secret?
[7:09] Samsara Nishi: oh.... this is a secret.... lol
[7:10] Jezabell Barbosa raises her eyebrows and looks devilishly at Samsara, “I love secrets, but we can talk about that in private”
[7:11] Samsara Nishi: actually I don’t remember why I pick that to name the store
[7:12] Samsara Nishi: maybe because it is because all RL information are "secrets" ;-) as I try to keep RL and SL apart from each other, except for maybe give out some RL information to my close friends.
[7:12] Jezabell Barbosa: Ah ha, you have real life secrets, you don’t want to expose in SL, wow, nice! That is so F’ning hawt.


[7:12] Jezabell Barbosa: Design and build just for the fun or for the lindens?
[7:15] Samsara Nishi: Fun for sure ! But.... well, you know... lindens are always welcome! ;-)

[7:16] Jezabell Barbosa: But I love money, so what am I saying!

During this interview, there were numerous shoppers popping in and out of her shop. Sam mentioned that she had posted in a freebie group about a new freebie in her shop. We chatted up for a long time that day, and never did a customer or freebie hunter come into her shop with out Sam greeting her with a warm welcome. Sam’s niceness was so infectious, I was even greeting the customers that came into her shop. I felt like I was working an event at a night club! Here is some side commentary that derailed us from the interview.

[7:17] Jezabell Barbosa: Dayum there is a lot of people up in here, up in here, up in here.
[7:17] Samsara Nishi: and lot of the buy also! I was not expecting to see that much today
[7:17] Jezabell Barbosa: What a good deal though, they also get a freebie!
[7:18] Samsara Nishi: You know what? I love create and design, but what I love even more is to talk to the customers and try to market my products.
[7:18] Samsara Nishi: to explore my business side lol

[7:19] Jezabell Barbosa: Where do you get your inspiration?
[7:19] Samsara Nishi: oh ! This is a nice question!
[7:20] Samsara Nishi: It depends on my mood and sometimes, I just jump into an experience to get some inspiration.
[7:21] Samsara Nishi: for example, when I opened this store at Rue D'Antibes.... well... I love Cote d'Azur ! I stopped by at Arles in my way south to Cannes / Rue D'Antibes I was wishing to know this gorgeous village where Van Gogh created some of his master pieces. I was touched by his wonderful paintings ! I was wishing to wear them! I thought, why not to wear them?
[7:25] Jezabell Barbosa: I have followed you for a few months now and I see the direction of your designs changing.
[7:25] Samsara Nishi: Yeap !
[7:25] Jezabell Barbosa: and I wonder what the next 3 months will look like with you?
[7:26] Samsara Nishi: Well in RL I am always wearing dresses and skirts ! I love them! So you can be sure to see more dresses and skirts in the future.
[7:26] Jezabell Barbosa: In Rl I wear jeans and UGGS but never any panties, I hate panties!
[7:26] Samsara Nishi: I started SL designing some pants, because SL skirts sucks!
[7:26] Samsara Nishi: So I was learning more and more about how to create them and make them flow.
[7:26] Samsara Nishi: lol.... I love jeans also!
[7:27] Samsara Nishi: Omg! I can’t imagine myself 3 months from now!
[7:27] Samsara Nishi: 3 months ago I NEVER could imagine myself with 3 stores ! NEVER !!! lol
[7:28] Samsara Nishi: I was a "storeless" designer for ages....
[7:28] Samsara Nishi: on that time, still a "storeless" designer I started to check SLX forum to learn how to run SL business
[7:28] Samsara Nishi: so I saw this post from Lindal Kidd about a free store to new designers. OMG! I jumped into it!
[7:28] Jezabell Barbosa: and that is where we met. I remember that day!
[7:28] Samsara Nishi: Lebettu folks were sooooo generous with me !

And when she says Lebettu folks (shameless plug) she means Me, Lindal Kidd, Amythest Morigi, and that man whose name I cannot force my fingers to type.

7:28] Jezabell Barbosa: Ok, Sam, so my last question is: what next?
[7:29] Samsara Nishi: Partnerships ! (in general)
[7:29] Samsara Nishi: SL is always surprising me.... it is tooooo fast
[7:29] Jezabell Barbosa: Partnership with designers or?
[7:30] Jezabell Barbosa: this is worse than Hollywood. You can date and get married 54 times and all before you finish your cup of coffee.
[7:30] Samsara Nishi: I guess partnerships, because this would be the best way to grow
[7:30] Samsara Nishi: complementary stuff (accessories, shoes, whatever!)
[7:31] Jezabell Barbosa: Oh, LOL

Ok by partnership she means accessories to make matching accessories to her designs as well as possibly partner with other designers. I have to remember, not everyone is in it for the drama like me.

[7:32] Samsara Nishi: I’m talking about in a broad way....
[7:32] Samsara Nishi: having fun with people who want to grow as well :)
[7:32] Samsara Nishi: business for sure (because I love it), not only business ! I love the people!

Sam has created a new dress inspired by the Lebettu sim where she had her first shop and became friends with all of us at Lebettu!
